ABOUT US

The Satellite Classic was first presented as the Telkom Satellite Cycle Challenge in 2003, at the Telkom Hartebeeshoek Satellite Station. With 2021 not taking place, this event will  be hosted for the 19th time on 2022. Veteran Cyclist, Pieter Zeelie, an employee of Telkom at the time, pioneered this iconic event. The major challenge of this event, the imfamous Hekpoort, awaited riders near the end. This year, riders will encounter the climb approx 15km into the event.

The event is now considered a seeding event for the Rode Joburg and is proudly hosted by Slipstream Events
